What is a Fillable Form? and why do I need one?

We have all filled them in at some point. Those forms that ask you for details and have defined place holder to enter the answers.

Just a few types of Fillable forms:

  • Checklist
  • Letter with different elements to choose from
  • Contact Details
  • Booking Forms

Who would use a Fillable Form?

There are many use cases for Fillable Forms in business - whether that is your own business or that of clients that you support.

Imagine that you work for a trainer or coach - they will need to gather information about booking in clients.

Things like :
Name, Address, Contact Details, Objectives.

They may need to gather feedback on a program - testimonials etc.

Or they may need to respond to enquiries in different ways  - using Fillable Forms you can construct a response that offers a choice of options. Magic.

Examples used in the course

Koffee Island is a chain of coffee shops run by Matt Salmon with the able help of Lisa ( his Microsoft Office Guru).

Koffee Island has meeting rooms along with a great coffee shop experience and those meeting rooms need to be booked.

In the course I show you how to create a booking form for a meeting room, including Date of Meeting, How Many People,  What refreshments are required.

Koffee Island  also has an Employee Contact Details form that lists the employee details along with emergency contacts too.

Plus the real magic happens when the staff at Koffee Island respond to an enquiry, they can choose which of the coffee shops to focus on in one document by choosing from a selection of options.

Is this course for Windows or Mac?

This course covers both Microsoft Word on the Windows platform and the Mac platform.

Is the functionality the same on Windows and Mac?

No it is not. There is more functionality for Fillable Forms for Word on the Windows Platform that the Mac platform .

On Windows - there are more Content Control types - this means you have more choice of the kind of fillable areas you want to add to your forms.  The way that Windows handles protecting the form is different to the Mac too.

This course covers both platforms!

In the course I show you how this works on both Windows and Mac - you can choose to take the whole course so that you can see what is possible (on Windows) or you can simply focus on the Mac section if that is what you use.

Don't take my word for it!

"“I really like Shelley's courses. She has a clear and easy to follow teaching style. In 'How to Create Fillable Forms' I've learned about the functions of the Developer ribbon which will mean I'll be able to create a bespoke Returns Form for a client who has an online shop.”

Introducing Shelley Fishel - The MS Office Maestro

I was so excited when the 3 computers arrived. I was finally going to be able to get rid of all the bits of paper, linking one piece of information to another. Now I could build a database.

The only problem was, I had no idea how. So, I bought a book about Access and taught myself.

And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.

I didn’t get the education I wanted when I was younger. By the time I was 17, I had to leave school to take over running my father’s business. I’ve always had a head for organizing. Give me a list and I’m happy. Done √ Next!

Because I didn’t finish my education, it was logical that I would stay at home when I got married and had children. And I loved so much of it. My family is at the heart of my life, and I love it when people feel comfortable and cared for. I’ve even become a bit famous for my Friday Shabbat baking photos (join me on Instagram for those).

But even back then I knew I could do much more (I’d already run one company and done admin for another) and I wanted to earn my own money too.

The kids grew and I moved back into the workforce over 20 years ago, eventually finding a wonderful training company where I learned my trade.

Being fiercely independent, my next step was starting my own company. I discovered I loved working with PAs and EAs. I get how they think and what they do. They have lots of different responsibilities and contacts; they’re the lynchpin, sorting everything and everybody out. And above all, their goal is helping their manager perform at their best.

I can relate to that, because I want nothing more than to help YOU perform at your best.

Over the years I’ve realized that I love to break down complex activities into simple steps that I can explain in a step-by-step practical way. #loveroflists

I never call myself a Microsoft expert. I just help you get things done quicker, easier, and more elegantly (and without drowning in Google first).

I can’t put it better than what a long-term client said about me recently: “Shelley’s like the angel on my shoulder”. I love that!

JFI Store: Business critical learning in uncertain times jfistore.com

I have just completed a course from Shelley Fishel entitled HOW TO CREATE FILLABLE FORMS and whereas I am not a VA I do produce a series of support material for my online training courses at JFI Store and it is for these that I wanted to be able to create forms that my learners can fill in with information and key learning points when they finish my various courses in management, team leadership, quality and change. I had learned how to do this years ago (and forgotten), this course took  me through the process, step-by-step, so clearly that it wasn't long before I was creating my learning support material with fillable forms once more. Thank you so much Shelley, your style is consistent, clear and yes, I went back over a few things again and again to make sure I really got it. Thank you.

I love Shelley's calm approach to everything Microsoft. I can now make forms to send to my clients - which I'd been putting off! I really like the way the lessons are designed in bite sized chunks so you can try a section at a time on your own documents or the included templates. I also have a couple of new buttons on my express bar and learnt tab would get me new lines in a table!
